| The glass-walled elevator is ringed with four supports, each about 18 inches wide at the bottom, but then arching outward near their top to connect with the stairway. The supports are attached at the floor, to the elevator wall, and then to the stairway sidewall, all to support the stairs at they spiral down. This construction leaves the stairway free of any visually distracting supports or mass. |
